Just back up ur system. You know, restore point precious files and pics ect.

Don't think it will hurt but if you arn't having any problems now then I wouldn't. There isn't anything I know of that will give you any performance over what you already have. So...... in a long dranw out spam sort of post I've created I'd say..... It's up to you.

Install that driver!! :D

Chances are, it's a new driver containing fixes and/or support for new ones coming out. Usually when this happens (and it's rare), it means the boys in Redmond stumbled upon some CPU timing or proper detection issues in their original native drivers, perhaps even some incompatibilities.

I remember quite fondly (grumble) trying to install a fresh copy of Windows many moons ago on a 500Mhz AMD K6-2 rig and it would not install...until I downclocked the CPU to 333Mhz. Once Windows was installed, I had to install one these fixed drivers and then ramp the CPU back to the default 500Mhz. Mind you, this was back in the old days where bus and multiplier adjustments required not only cracking the case but involved wielding needle-nose pliers, 1000 yard stares into the silkscreening of the motherboard to read the proper values to set the myriads of jumpers (because you either tossed the mainboard manual away or it never came with one), and tons of patience. :p

Almost looks like something that would be part of Palladium.
