Good news for AGP based systems looking for an upgrade path before making the jump to PCI-E / DX10. Diamond has announced it will be releasing the X1950Pro in AGP form for an estimated price of $199US.

I would be curious to see how this card stacks up against other high end AGP solutions like Gainwards 7800GS +

If it's really a full fledged X1950 Pro and it's only gonna be $199 US, I believe that's how much the PCI-E one will be too.

YES!!!!!
this is perfect, as my 6800GT is really starting to lag in newer games.
one thing though: do ATI cards now support color saturation control similar to nv's digital vibrance?

ATI's equivalent of Digital Vibrance is called ATI Color Radiance .

I still have two computers that are stuck on AGP. This would be a sweet upgrade for them both. One system is down cause I sold the vcard it was using (6800GT), and the other is still using my old 5950U.
Both systems would get an amazing boost from such a card. And at that price, why the heck not? :D :D :D

US$199 is a surprisingly low price for a high-end card, not to mention its AGP as well (Which costs more than PCI-E)

Unfortunately this seems as it was yet another press release snaffu from Diamond. They have since retracted any mention of the AGP 1950 Pro from their website and the previously linked release. You think they would have learned after making the same mistake last year when they announced an X1800XT in AGP form. :(

True, but if you noticed there is no mention of the x1950Pro at all. Not even a PCI-E version.
So either, they're not gonna release this model, period, or they're planning a huge surprise! I'm hoping its the latter.
