Hey Everybody check this out:

"Taipei, Taiwan, September 20, 2006 ASUSTeK Computer Inc. (ASUS), the worldwide leader of motherboards, today introduced the P5N32-SLI premium/WiFi-AP, which leveraged Quad-SLI technology, Intel's Core2 Extreme support, and a third PCI Express x16 slot for Nvidia's upcoming Physics card to deliver superior gaming realism. Teamed with SupremeFX and DTS connect, P5N32-SLI Premium/WiFi-AP-powered systems provide gaming experiences that look, feel and sound real."

:wtf: What in the world? So NVIDIA is going to lay the smack down on Ageia or what?!:D

Thanks goes to shungokusatsu for the link.

Either this is an error or Nvidia is going to rip Asus a new hole for letting this slip.

Is it possible (however unlikely) that DFI cancelled there board not just for chipset (C55) reasons, but because they would have not a PCI-E spot for NVIDIA's Physics Card?:p

I completely agree! I am leaning for option #2! (nana2) :rofl

so let me get this straight...there could possibly be five pcb boards in your case with this physics card?...yikes!!

It's kinda looking that way to me.:p

I seem to recall hearing something about using a third video card do to physics processing, just like ATI is currently pushing.

Or did I just make that up?

I thought only ATI had shown this technology but maybe I am wrong.

Wow I am very surprise to hear Nvidia going to launch Physics card, I guess they canned GPU physics, I think Nvidia R&D developed Nvidia Physics card that will do better job than a GPU as well as SLI physics and also more powerful with tons of bandwidth in PCIE x16 slot than AGEIA physics card in very weak PCI slot.

I hope Nvidia physics card will be completely slient. :D

More bandwidth doesn't make a faster card :)

The sad news about this all is Physx accelerated games will not be accelerated by Nvidia's card.

I think Nvidia should just buy Ageia..lol

Ya, i bet their stocks pretty low saying as how few people own a physx card, and how usless they are...

I hope there'll be enough room for a sound card to fit in ?? who cares anyway .. physics ftw!! :D

I think Nvidia should just buy Ageia..lolagreed. unless M$ is making a physics API, then it would be a pointless buy.

on a side note i wish nvidia would have spentthere time making SS2 ..

I'll bet that Nvidia is trying to get this technology out before ATI does.

I'm sure this is what Nvidia is trying to beat.

Tight squeeze...

So is that a low end GPU they are using for the physics?

if you think about it, physics with the g80 comming and vista, this could be why we are seeing a slowdown with forceware driver releases.

How awesome would it be if the nvidia card accelerated all versions of Havok physics? :p

Itd be extra sweet if it could do Meqon and PhysX too, but I really doubt that'd happen.

I'm really hoping not to get the screw job (pb) when it comes to hardware for UT2007. What I mean is I know I will want physics for the game but there is no way I will buy an Ageia card and an Nvidia card too.:)

Yup that is my concern too..lol I would get both if I could fit them in a damn motherboard..lol

:D Exactly. I hate having to choose freaking sides if I wanna play a game to it's full potential.

COME ON NVIDIA JUST BUY AGEIA!:rw:

One thing I can definetly say is that I am glad that Nvidia is not just going to roll over and get their arse kicked in this new market. Certainly Nvidia has the innovation and the great minds of engineers to get the job done.:D

This is of course going to sound so corny especially on this site, but let me just say it anyway: Nvidia FTW in the long run.:D

Here is my theory:

nVidia is not going to introduce a dedicated PPU, such as the PhysX. Instead, they are going the route of ATi where you may use an older video card to accelerate physics, thus leaving your SLi setup to do its graphics rendering job.

This would mean, guys, that those of you with GX2s could keep the card, buy 2 G80s, and have one mean rig. :D Imagine a GX2 fully dedicated to physics- would PhysX even stand a chance? ;)

In all honesty, I do not want nVidia to buy out Agiea. I want Agiea to mature into a big company that can compete with ATi and nVidia no problem. This would mean competition, and some extra pressure on both nVidia and ATi.
