They really shouldn't let Kutaragi talk on stage anymore... Nothing against the guy but he's too big of a dork and is so boring...

Yea, he hasn't really said anything I find that important yet.

I wonder how long his keynote speech is.

Welp Sony is doing the Nintendo and going to offer back catalog over the network, including older consoles (PC Engine and MegaDrive were stated in speach).

As long as I can get PS1 games directly, I don't care about anything else! No more need for my CDs.

09-21-06, 09:12 PM
Yea that's about the only real announcement he's made so far lol.

09-21-06, 09:15 PM
ooooh He just announced something interesting... Allowing users to follow game development from the actual console aswell as keep contact with developers and offer their own opinion and ideas directly. Seems like Sony is trying to bridge the gap betweent he gaming community and developers...

Dout it will happen though.

It's over. How lame, that completely sucked IMO.

Yup, Poor showing but it wasn't a Sony Conference. It was a Keynot address... sucky one though... Hopefully they will have alot to show on the floor... I hope.

A question on why HDMI only is in the high level version of the PS3 only. Kutaragi explains that sony was worried that if they put the HDMI in the lower version, some would complain about having to pay for something they don't want. However, HDMI penetration has come faster than expected. He then asks people if they want HDMI in all models. Everyone in the audience says yes. He then confirms that all models, including the 20 gig version, will have an HDMI port.

Lol, finally something worthwhile. Glad to see they wised up and just threw HDMI in both model.

09-21-06, 09:52 PM
Oh, Price Drop for Japan aswell...

The 20GB version will be below 50,000 Yen (430USD).

I was just reading about that. Wonder if that carries over to the US as well. Would be nice if it did.

If Sony can release each version $100 less, then the PS3 is gonna dominate (as long as they can keep it in stock). For $500 the PS3 would be perfectly priced honestly.

I doubt that will happen but I didn't expect the HDMI to be put in so who knows lol.
