View Full Version : new sound card
I have a nforce 4 motherboard with built in sound chip, I would like to buy a new sound card do I have to un-install my sound drivers before I install my new sound card or can I just disable it in the bios ?
Thx for any help

bypassing it in the bios should be good enough. If it's a creative card though, I wouldn't take the chance. Creative can be very finicky.

All you should need to do is to swith the sound off in the bios and get a SoundBlaster X-Fi card ,I have had real good luck with mine with the newest drivers.

Yeah in best case scenario x-fi is bliss but in worst... you rip you hair out of your head (that crackling&popping can really start piss you off)
Shouldn't this be in subforum below?
