I never got a chance to really play it so this will be a must buy for me.

Hmmm, relive my childhood for $5? Why not!

Although, I still have Ultimate Doom on floppies, and ZDoom is so much more appealing :p

I wonder if they will release the Shareware levels as the demo. Back to the days of getting a whole episode for free :drooling:

I still prefer the Classic Doom 3 mod, though this is definitely very cool. Hopefully they'll release all the games (Doom, Doom II, Ultimate, Final, etc). I'd definitely buy that.

Supposedly 4 player co-op online. Will have to wait until a english site picks up the news.

Meh. Aren't you people tired of Doom ?

Give me Duke Nukem 3D, Heretic or even Wolfenstein 3D.

Seems like an odd choice for Xbox Live Arcade since you can already play the original Doom with the Collector's Edition of Doom 3 on the Xbox, but I guess more Live Arcade games can't hurt. Online play would be fun too, how many players did the PC version support back in the day?

I still have fond memories of playing Doom on my 32x (before I had a computer that could play it).

I loved the original for my old windows 95 PC. I thought the HL2 mod of it was good, I never finished it though.

No way the 360 could play those at a decent framerate.

I downloaded the Doom demo last night... all I can say is Doom has not aged well at all.

Yeah, I thought so too. Especially when you can fire up ZDoom, load it with some amazingly well done models, high res texture packs, etc.

...

I might still buy it though. I'm such a Doom junky :(

My friends and I play Doom over a LAN every week and we all think that the game still looks very good. We tried using JDoom and other OpenGL ports of the engine, but for some reason we just like the original software rendered one the best.
