As far as Rally games are concerned, I liked Rallisport Challenge by Microsoft a lot. I spent many hours with that game and still have fun with it. Colin McRae Rally 3 is supposed to be the best, from what I've heard. I'm not sure if there's a demo yet, but I've seen that it's either just been released or will be released very soon on Xbox, hopefully a PC version will be released around the same time.

F1 games I'm not sure of. Most the time, you can't go wrong with an EA title for sports. Those seem to be riddled with less bugs than most their other games, but still not bug free, of course. That's not to say EA's not a great company, but they do seem to have some crippling bugs in the final release software.

EDIT: Looks like Colin McRae 3 will be released on PC in June of this year.

june, what a wait. Does anyone know if any of the newer Formula One games lets you build your own track? That would be cool.

F12002 - because it has a better physics engine and u can set the way you want to play with no help at all, mix of help or full help and u still will have to be able to drive it unlike f12001 or gp4, of which i hear the latter helps u even if u have no help selected...(from poster in a forum). Stunning Graphics and also the mod community is the best.
http://www.simmods.com - for f12002 mods - they have GT racing mods,
upcoming 1980s f1 mod, turbo mod etc etc the list goes on.

Rallying,...graphically stunning is the M$ Rallisport challenge...although its more "arcady" than simulation. CMR2 although old offers much more of a challenge than Rallisports...but not as graphically nice. Also as said in an earlier post cmr3 is going to be released soon. you might wnna try extreme rally too its ok...and graphically nice.

I always liked the collin series, and i really want to play the 3rd game this year.

And the best f1 game for me is gp4, because i feel that is more real, the phisycs model is very good, and also the AI, but f12002 still a good game, any way, i had played the gp series a lot since gp2, and all those games have been a really good sim.

Rally Trophy is the best rally game.

thanks for the replies, i will check out Rallisport Challenge and f12002 for sure. Been playing the demo of need for speed, hot pursuit since someone told me the cars looked *great*. But they look pretty average to me. Shouldnt they have super pixel shader effects or something?

I've tried both GP4 and F1 2002. I sold F1 2002 to a friend and kept GP4.

Truth to be told, I find GP4 more beautiful and more realistic in terms of car settings, although the general driving physics from the car are probably better modelized in F1 2002, as it was already said (in GP4, I feel the car has a tendancy to stick to the best-line, wether the corresponding driving assistant is turned on or off, but that's my only gripe).

I shall add I'm a strong follower of the F1GP series since the original one though, so habits are strong to break.
