View Full Version : Inno3D GeForce 7900 GS Review
Hard working Kyle Kerley has completed his review of Inno3D's GeForce 7900 GS. He checks out performance in 3DMark06, F.E.A.R., Serious Sam 2, Prey, and Oblivion with this wildly overclockable GPU from NVIDIA.
The overclocking results were so spectacular that I had to make them the focus of this review. Starting with the stock speed of 450MHz core/1320MHz memory, an optimal speed of 557MHz/1568MHz was achieved with the overclocking applet in the new ForceWare control panel! With RivaTuner, I was able to push the memory up to 1600MHz for a 24% increase on the core and 21% increase in the memory clock speeds!

Thanks man! And yes, yes it is. I love this card and still can't believe I was able to overclock it so high!
I have several asking about the 7900 GS, now I can refer them to your review. Nice job!

Thanks for the feedback, and I hope the review is informative enough for any potential buyers you're sending over to read it. :)
The 3DMark06 SM2.0 score is very low comparing with HDR/SM 3.0 test.
Overall 3DMark06 score is very low, because I get ~4100 with my 7900GS(450/1320) + Athlon X2 4600+.
Something is wrong...

I don't know what to tell you...I ran it three times to ensure the same results and no score was ever more than 15 points off from the others.
Interesting... Could you tell what lock up did you get when 7900GS was running at 574/1650Mhz?

The program (and Windows) just froze. I had to hard reboot and then backed the clocks off a bit to keep it from happening again.

Maybe your driver is faster or have you enabled any optimations? The performance difference between "high performance" (all opt. enabled) and "high quality" (all opt. disabled) can be pretty huge in some cases.

Aye...and I always have the card in High Quality mode. I s'pose I should've mentioned that to begin with, eh? :p
