The console version is much better. What's more I set CPU usage to 80%. :D
uses crap loads more CPU time than the SLOW GUI version used.
So... is it REALLY quicker than the GUI version?

well, if the console actually uses more CPU % than the GUI version, then i would say yes.
all i know is the console is quick and easy to use, and it works fine for me, so i continue to use it.
oh yeah, and if you're reading this fastguy, i passed you up and you're eating my dust :afro:
ph33r!
i keep getting work units that take forever to finish :bs:
we're so close to rank 1500 i can almost taste it.

I don't think you're meant to run your CPU at 100% for hours with only stock cooling and no case fans  :o
I'll have to wait a few weeks to get some before I fry my CPU folding :(

As I didnt know what I was doing exactly, I just put my name and nvnews team number in and let it crank. When I went to check my stats, I saw that my WU was going to someone else with the username Smokey  hense my name doesnt appear yet :banghead:
So Ive lost my 1st WU, cahnged my name now to Smokey@nVnews ;) Im 80% through my current and 1st WU for nvnews, its called P627_vfd_ext, and its taking forever...

My console version of SETI runs much faster too. But I've read somewhere that if you let GUI SETI run minimized, or not showing the graphics somehow, you get a similar performance.
If your CPU reachs 70°C, then it's too bad, and it's not Folding's fault! Check your cooling system.
You can use your CPU 100% 24/7, with SETI, Folding, 3D Mark or whatever, and with proper cooler it should be stable and preferably not reach 60°C.

It is the cooling system, as soon as I take the side of the case off the temp jumps down to about 59C with a standard cooler. So I might try some case fans and a new Fan for my CPU as well.
Just want to say woot  Finished my first WU for nVnews, straight in at 6th place, well equal 5th :p
I can smell rank 1000 coming guys and girls :headbang:

I'll carry on folding, just have the side of my case off until I get some fans
Damn I hate this crap, I just clicked on my name under nvnews team foldding and the damn thing isnt me :banghead: it is, but it is someone else also, so Ive done 2 WU for someone else, crap and are doing a third one for someone else :fu: Would have been nice if they could tell you if a name was already in use or not!
