Im looking to buy a new Video card ... finally to move from AGP.. to PCI xpress.. (nana2)

its a Downgrade... i think my 256bit bus Agp Geforce 6800Gt will eat alive the 128bit 7600gs ,but im alittle short on cash. after buying a brand new Computer with COre2 cpu. :)

Was looking at the following 7600gs's (256megs) in newegg

I see there many cards not using fan ,just the heatsink.. does that doesnt get very hot with gaming ? which brand is the better one ?

I liked the XFX look (no fan) but also the EVGA.(with fan) ..

which way to go fan or no fan ?

DOnt know why the diferences in prices between some EVGA's (when they have the same memory 256 and same brand)

any comments ?

Get the one with the fan. And you won't notice any huge difference between you old 6800GT and the 7600GS.

I highly doubt that. The 7600 GS is slightly faster than a 6600 GT.

The 7600 GT on the other hand is around the same speed as the 6800 GT.

I dont know about your budget , but have you considered this

Its not WAY over the XFX fanless one and is cheaper after MIR ( which I hate ) .

Anyway the 7600GTs are faster than any GF 6 series cards.

I'm with Daydre@m on this one. Why not get a GT for $110?

WHats the diference between the 7600GS and the 7600Gt ?

after looking the prices is very tempting to go with the 3dfusion 7600GS only $88.88

Its a temporay solution ,im planing to buy later a G80 later in the year with 512 of ram and 256 bit bus. But i need something decent for now to plug in my new machine.

7600GT is 560Mhz on Core vs 400Mhz Core on 7600GS

And 1.4Ghz GDDR3 memory vs 700~800Mhz DDR2 memory on 7600GS

The Core clock is not such a huge gap but the memory does make quite a difference, making it ( the 7600GT ) faster than any GF6.

Btw the 3D Fusion 7600GS is a nice price , I myself would prefer that over any other 7600GS if I had to go with something under 100U$D but with 109U$D the Evga 7600GT is another great deal.

PS : Other specs can be check here : http://www.neeyik.info/3dspecs/

I use the fanless eVGA 7600 GS in an Shuttle SFF box and it's been very solid. If you're looking for a short-term fix, it's a good card to get. The 7600 GT is the same card at higher memory and GPU clock speeds, but otherwise the same. See http://adriansrojakpot.com/showarticle.aspx?artno=88&pgno=1 for a pretty good comparison of chipsets.
