Yes the demo is 1.06 GB (sic!). My final impressions > :|

Playing the demo I had the impression of playing NFSU (1) all over again. Not only for the atmoshpere of the game but also for the look; it's almost like playing NFSU for PC at 1280x800.

Ridge Racer 6 environmets and cars look much better. PGR is a differnt beast and I won't even try to make comparisons.

The soundtrack for this rocks.

So far at other boards too, I am not hearing very good things about this demo :( I remember the good ol days when a new NFS game was vastly improved from the previous one.

Was this by the same team who made MW? Or the team that made U? If I recall correctly, MW was by a different team than the ones who made U.

Tokio Extreme Racing will be out tomorrow in the States and Europe and it already received good reviews in Japan. The good news is that the game seems to be every bit as good as its Dreamcast anchestor. If you like TXR on the Dreamcast, this might be a good title to pick up. Just don't expect a revolutionary game.

MW was developed by EA Canada but Carbon is developed by EA Blackbox, the guys who made HP2, U1,U2.

What is that for? Me and the roomy LOVED TXR3 on PS2.

It's for Xbox 360 only. It's marketed under the name "Import Tuner Challenge" outside Japan and published by ubisoft.

OMG this demo sucks:
-lots of slowdowns
-had my first 360 crash
-the cars drive like they're on rails
NOOO!!!! Don't say these things!!! I kinda had the feeling that Carbon was going to end up another rushed game by EA. They've been pretty low key about this title.

NFS is dead cant belive they release crap demos like this.. even if its early code at least make it playable.

Damn. With all this negative feedback I don't know whether I should waste 1GB of my schools 3GB cap :thumbdwn: to download this game. :(

I agree. The demo is real laggy and the controls are really bad . . . I can't believe they would release something like that! Wow. Deleting now . . .

If I'm not mistaken, EA plans to publish a PS3 version, too. I wonder how well it will be received by PS3 early adopters

This game is really horrible.

Most shocking to me is it's worse in about every way than their PREVIOUS 360 game, a LAUNCH title no less!

It looks like ass anyways.

It looks WORSE than NFSMW and runs slower too. Heck, it looks worse overall than Ridge Racer 6.

Very true and so is EA Montreal, the guys who made the Splinter Cell games, Prince of Persia and who are working currently on Assassins Creed (and Double Agent).

Edit: ^^^ Bunch of BS, shouldnŽt post when IŽm tired. :zzzz:

HP2 was an average but a little boring NFS game but I did like U1 and U2. From the car handling side they were actually better than MW but from the technical side all 3 games (U1, U2, Carbon) seem to be very similiar and feature not the same type of advancement that I and many others expected. Carbon almost reminds me of the EA Sports titles (FIFA, NHL) which barely change from one year to the next three years or so.

Sad but IŽll give the retail game a fair chance.
