Okay I heard this rumor "GOD" was an ATI fan and was jut going to give ATI control over graphics universe.
Earlier today "GOD" stated: "nVidia has not done a good enough job and im taking them off of the planet effective today."

cool, let's start paying 600$ for a video card ... ;)
What?! Gathering Of Developers owns nVidia Corporation?
Damn, why does no one ever keep me updated on those type of things?

that really dosent make sence.
Its more of a
Nvidia is the graphics god, and ATI disobeyd them, Nvidia is going to punish ati?
What you forget is that Nvidia uses a 3 parralell dev team, just because the FX is delayed the NV35 can come out on time. Thats what they set up their system for in the first place.
This seems the same thing that happend with Intel and AMD. After intel saw what AMD did, they started to unleash a fast steady stream of bastardly fast processors, witch they probly would of never done if they didnt have any compatition.

Competition is great, but leads change hands back and forth, NVidia has lost it, by the time they crank out thieir FX cards ATI will be ready to launch thier next card and so on and so forth down the line.
I imagine the ATI/NVidia lead change will go on for years.
IMO, neither companies are really going to keep the performance crown very long as of now.
The R350 will take the crown from the NV30 for 2 months ( although the NV30 barely got it, it's perfectly justifiable to say the R300 still got it )
The NV35 will take the crown from the R350 for 3 months
The R400 will take the crown from the NV35 for 6 months
The NV40 will take the crown from the R400
Then comes the real question... Will the R450 be sufficent to beat the NV40? If it isn't, then nVidia got the performance crown for about 7 months.
Another good question is if nVidia decided to go The Intel Way, by making refreshes use the new process. For example, the P4 began at 1.4Ghz with 0.18 - it only switched to 0.13 later. The NV40 is expected to be on 0.13 - but will the NV45 be on 0.09?

it's very likely that nvidia will go for .09 process as soon as possible........after all they did go for .13 at thier first chance.
question is......could nv40 be .09 card?
if they miss another cycle, which is possible,nv40 might be .09 part.

That really dosent make any sence.
Then again, if we go to the judgement system of where a card dosent beat another card by "that much" then the Gf4 Ti 4600 is still king. There is absolutly no preformace gain the Radeon 9700pro offers that would make you want to upgrade.
Yes i agree if you have a R9700p there is no reason to upgrade to a Gf FX but being faster is still being faster.
Just as a side note, have ya guys ever tried to use a Radeon in Linux?
GlowStick: My point is that the GFFX is *not* an undisputed performance leader. There are cases where the R300 is faster, sometimes even WAY faster!
Silence: 0.09 certainly won't be ready for sometime. H2 2004 is the optimistic target for TSMC, AFAIK. So it's nearly impossible for the NV40 to use 0.09 - the question is if the NV45 will use 0.09...

Hm a good question is, thought it would take a chip engeneer to probly answer it, if you design a chip for lets say a .13 process, can you turn around and just make it smaller? Or do you have some stuff that wont work etc, that you have to desgin the chip for the certin process?
Then i wonder why ati dosent make thier flagship r350 with the .13 since the cheeper one will be on it.

Moving to .09u takes an entire redesign of most, if not all schematics in the design and most of the time is part of the new characteristics of a new line of parts. It is rare to see it happen in a refresh and IMO not usually a smart move.

they will eventualy do it, but it will happen after Intel perfects it. Then TMSC has time to start doing it.
