if nvidia is truly doing the unified shader thing it is really going to throw a curveball at the ati fans that have been smack talking the g80.

I wonder how expensive the bad boys will be. i really hop it wouldnt be over 400 for a GTX.

128 unified shaders clocked at 1350 MHz omg :O

Is this real???

It cant be...

is it?

Holy freaking balls...

On paper, this is completely rediculous. I'd say its 3 times what I thought the 8800 would be. Seriously. 128 unified shaders at 1350Mhz?

I really want this to be true, but it sounds pretty unrealistic to me. This thing would probably be 5 times the speed of anything currently available if this were true...

EDIT: BTW, w00t, they brought back "GTS". I loved my Geforce 2 GTS 32Mb back in the day. :D

Goodbye 7950. Hello 8800GTX...provided there is a perf boost -.-

Wait... I think I misread something originally... I thought the CORE was running at 1350Mhz. :p

How is the core clock different than the shader clock? Is this something new with unified shaders?

Looking good to me... If it's true I may put off Conroe for just one of these :)

Time to upgrade. Thought the memory would be GDDR4....oh well.

128 unified shaders clocked at 1350 MHz omg :O

What exactly does this mean btw? how much of a perfermance boost does it give say compared to a 7900GTX?

NVIDIA defines the 8800GTX with 128 "stream processors." Each shader has a clock of 1350MHz, but the core clock is 575MHz. We will detail more on the architecture later today.

128 unified shaders... WOW  I thought it going to be 48 or 64 unified shaders, Geforce 8800 GTX has twice amount of R600's 64 unified shaders. I am glad to see it doesnt require monster PSU to feed off, it has the same PSU requirement Geforce 7950 GX2 used. (nana2)

this looks sick. I bet the GTS will be $475 and the GTX $575-600

Yeah maybe so, but more importantly this is GREAT news for gaming.
Cause DX10 games can all now be programmed without regard to a fixed balance between PS, VS and GS code.
Had there been just one nonunified card on the DX10 market, that advantage would be moved up by years.

If it keeps the perfermeance up there i will be defeantly gonna grab it.

You know, I dont even care at all about any other circumstances... I'm buying an 8800GTX at launch. ;)

My 7950 will be on ebay shortly before the g80 launch.

No question.

My rig will have an 8800GTX pwning away in it in November.

I cant wait. :D

450W recommended psu for the GTX. There goes the rumors about it needing an external psu and two pci-e power connectors. That thing will be cool. Really. Not bad, not bad... :D

I glad I was waiting on buying a new computer, but it's going to suck to have to wait longer.
