View Full Version : Memtest86 Error

Ok, last night I built my new machine (in sig), and today I ran memtest on it while at work. Memtest ran for 21+ passes, and had a single error at one address during pass 13. When I ran the test, I had the memory configured for DDR2-800, timings by SPD and voltage at auto. The SPD is 5-5-5-18 (4-4-4-12 for EPP at 2.1 volts). Since the test, I've set the voltage manual to 2.1 (with the BIOS throwing up a warning that could be damaging a component, yadda yadda yadda), and it cranked on ORTHOS for 35 minutes with no error, using all but 8MB of memory.

Anything to worry about?

If I were you I would run Orthos for a few hours. I had a bad stick of RAM in my Corsair Dual Channel Kit, which, in dual channel mode, only showed up after an hour of SP2004. Now I'm stable Overnight with no fail, which for me is good enough.

I just ran orthos (blend test) for ten and half hours with no errors. I guess my RAM is fine. I might rerun memtest later when I have large chunck of time for it.
