Oblivion black screen on 3D only

Title says it. Oblivion goes black on me before I can even leave the damn prison cell. The temps are about 78 C. Battlefield 2 runs fine, and 3DMark can run all night long without issues, so any ideas?

I have no codecs.

And alt tabbing does not work for me =/
Besides, Oblivion is not worth playing without HDR. I wouldn't be able to stand it.

I hope thats your video card... and even then, thats pretty high. Are you overclocking?

When I was overclocking my GX2 too much, Oblivion gave me fits with HDR enabled.

It's at right now 600 / 1300. Yes, the GPU is at 78 C

I think stock was 375 / 1000

Not too sure, it was so long ago >_> I hate Dell and their conservative clocking.

Its because of the HDR. That makes it more picky than most games.

Bump your clocks back down to stock and try it. If its fixed then you know why its doing that.

Slowly ramp the clocks back up until you get problems. I guarantee you wont get as high as that again, but its better than not being able to play the game at all.
