Creative has launched XMOD - a USB sound card.
What's new is that this card does not require drivers and can work with Mac.
This is good approach I think.
XMOD comes with a Crystallizer feature (explained as magic stick for crappily ripped mp3s (nana2) as all previous X-Fi cards.

Looks like a great concept.

Right now I just use my plantronics USB headset which has it's own usb "sound card" and it does a well enough jobbie for me, no drivers required.

This is a take on that concept, with more goodies.

Perhaps if the tech is proven and the drivers don't blow, I'll have to consider getting this and a good set of seinheisser headphones.

No drivers for a Creative product...hmmm...

Might be decent, then. ;)

Actually... I looked into it a little bit. Pretty much its just an external equalizer that kicks up your bass and treble.

I love Creative.
