Might be a chipset driver problem .....
Install the latest motherboard chipset driver, if even then you get freezing or crashing then uninstall it completely.
Also try changing your video card drivers , use some older ones like 84.21

I have the latest bios installed already. I tried the 84.21 driver... same result :-(

what does it look like when it freezes? does the screen go black, or does it just stop at whatever frame the game was on? does it beep at all if you start hitting CTRL+ALT+DEL. does ALT+F4 do anything?

Screen goes black, music stops, no bips, no ctrl+alt+del, no alt+f4, machine seems on but totally dead

Have you tried the 9+ driver set?

No what I meant was to get the latest AGP driver , if that does not help then try some older one ... and also try using the card without the chipset drivers.

Done that.... no effect :thumbdwn:

Ok i am just guessing but which PSU do you have, are you sure your getting around 18Amps on 12V rails ?
And what are the temps your getting ( I am sure its not a temp issue but still ... try Everest for that , otherwise flash BIOS to see in Nv pannel ) . Another thing is AGP fastwrites ( turn it off , if its on ) .. it also causes problems like crashing but I think you might have done that ...
