well, if that happens AMD/ATI will have the only high end graphics, and youll be locked into amd+ati. There is absolutly no way that intel would keep high end graphics cards around, not enough money in them.

Did you even read what it said?

Um you should try reading... no where it says its a merger but more of an exclusive deal for Intel. Intel would just increase its stock option in Nvidia. Basically Intel is saying "Hey Nvidia, AMD and ATI are on and strong now... We should team up? How about it?"
I hope they form an alliance, having Nvidia develop IGP for Intel boards would help ALOT for us gamers... the lower common denominator that developers aim for would get a boost meaning better games in the future even at low settings.
Intel as of right now is not buying or taking over Nvidia... The cost would be HUGE for Intel...

That's not even remotely correct.

NVIDIA stock soared all time high today and closed at $32.92 (http://money.cnn.com/quote/quote.html?symb=NVDA), this value NVIDIA as $11.6bn company, I found it interesting NVIDIA is now slight bigger than AMD's $11.1bn (http://money.cnn.com/quote/quote.html?symb=AMD) company but it probably wont last long until ATI acquistion complete then it may will add up ATI's $5.3bn (http://money.cnn.com/quote/quote.html?symb=ATYT) to AMD value to make it $16.4bn company.

Yeah we all know there is zero money in the high end. I mean wtf was Intel thinking for making a blazing fast processor like the Quad-core Kentsfields they just tested. There is no money in that, just like there is no money in Quad SLi technology. What were they thinking!

If this holds true it could really help nv take more market share.
I see it as win-win myself. :)

S3 + ATI + Microsoft + nVidia then evil_ghost would never be able to play a video game again.

Why not AMD + Intel + NVIDIA + ATi + Microsoft + Linus Torvalds :p

+ Apple.
Then everything would be a shiny white and we would all walk with our noses up in the air and never have to build our systems.

Yuck! I'd hate not to be have to build a computer.

then ATI's I mean AMD's graphics will get seriously pwned. On a more realistic side, I think we should expect SLI on 975X?? and maybe NV gets a free FSB liscence? I'm not sure if Intel really wants NV to tab into its lucrative Integrated Graphics market, but if ATI's making chipset for AMD, then Intel might have to since GMA sux.

While i understand Intel might not want nV to have at their intergrated graphics marketshare. One has to only understand that they really have no other choice. Intel has to do somthing to compete with whatever future intergrated low-high end solutions AMD comes out with. Bringing nV into the party to help with that is an easy solution and a win-win solution for both companies. Especially when it comes to the low end intergrated market. Intel is getting more and more critique from the industry for what they have done to the low end pc gaming market in the last decade. In fact they set the scales and standards for what the low end gaming market is. Which allows other hardware manufacturers to get by on machines and graphics solutions that are sub par for even last gen games. Even advertise these intergrated machines as being able to play games. When they don't play games, they lose not only a future upgrade cycle customer but remove gamers from the pc games market. So their current intergrated solutions are taking money out of their own pocket anyways currently, with regards to future hardware related sales. The goal of Intel should be to find ways to bring these low end mainstream solution customers to the high-end segment of the market.

sorry for the rant i could go on for days and days about Intel+ graphics+games, even though they finally got their act together with conroe+
