IE7 lags a bit when multiple tabs are opened..like more then 8. haha. I liek it though. MUCH MUCH improved over IE6.

As a web developer I really hope IE7's CSS support is a lot stronger. It sucks limiting yourself in instances where IE6 really drops the ball.

Yeah, and at the same time: I hope IE7 behaves like Gecko-based browsers (FF, etc) do with CSS because I don't want to have to create hacks for THREE browsers now.

Sigh.

I have a very, VERY bad feeling about the release of IE7... :(

It's not that it lags...the internet sometimes cuts in and out and when it does it just gets super slow. It can run fine on 15 or 20 tabs..just not when the internet isnt working. :(

Quote FTW. Although I must say that both IEx and Gecko-based browsers could learn a little from both Opera and Safari when it comes to CSS rendering... :)

Btw, does IE7 have the option to change the font size of the page ?

Text size should do in option menu, and try accesibility options too in CPL.

There is a short cut to increase font size in Explorer, and Internet Explorer, hold CTRL and use the scroll wheel.

Did IE7 mess up anyone else pc?

Well I installed the BETA of IE7 to see what all the fuss is about. Well it was great but went to uninstall it and after the reboot my PC was able to start but explorer bar which windows needs to function wouldnt show up. The only thing that was showing was my desktop wallpaper but not the desktop itself. I had to hit alt, crtl and delete which thankfully worked and brought up the task manager which I used to run firefox to get to the net to find a solution. I can only imagine what those not savy enough are going through. Probably the worse a piece of software has ever messed up my system.

first of all its a beta, second of all why you installed a beta now, when RC1 been out for a while.

third of all, final is right around the corner

and finally, no it didn't mess anything up

The problem was he tried uninstalling it. Though not sure why, because he said it was great. Why would you uninstall it if you liked it so much?

It was the first non-game beta ever and I was curius and just wanted to test it out. Didnt think it would mess up my system like it did but I am not alone. It deletes a file during the uninstall which causes the windows explorer not to load on restart.

It's great but needs optimisations in page rendering.

As intrigued as I am by IE7, I'm going to be hard pressed to relinquish my Maxthon Browser (http://www.maxthon.com/index.htm) that I've grown to know and love...

Definately much better than IE6! Don't like that Clear Type option though the text looks goofy, I took that off straight away!. Def a tad slower than IE6.

Hmmm slower than IE6? Are you refer to Clear Type?

I installed IE7 on my old laptop with 1.2GHz Celeron and 512MB RAM, it faster than IE6 when Clear Type enabled.

Slower than IE6?

Feels just fine to me. Definitely faster than Firefox, haven't used the latest RC though.

Using the final version now :D

Speaking of IE6, can one have both 6 and 7 installed at the same time?

anyway to remove the Ads highlighting / linking on certain text ?. Like if someone writes about windows XP, the words "windows xp" will highlight and link in the paragraph to an Ad, Its annoying.

Those ads help MikeC (this site's/forum owner) pay the bills. If you enjoy the site (which I'm sure you do, you're here aren't you ;)) please don't try and disable it.
