The reviews are right on for this card. I'm running mine at 650/1.4GHz with no problems!!! It replaced a 7900 GT, and it smokes that card. I sold the GT because I couldn't pass up the 7900 GTO. My system only has a 300W PS, but the card runs fine. I don't have much else in my system, so that's probably why the card still works. For just a little over $250, I'm getting near 7900 GTX speeds. Nvidia is great!!!! If you're looking to upgrade, you NEED TO GET THIS CARD!!!!. My CPU is on the weak side, but that's O.K. I wouldn't be able to upgrade to the 8800 GTX anyway.

Also, you CAN'T HEAR THIS CARD EVEN UNDER MAX LOAD. This card has everything: terrific performance, low price, and almost silent fan noise. WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR!!!!!! DirectX 10? It will be a while before most games will use DX 10.

Here are some benchmarks: remember that I don't have a great CPU.

3DMark 2003 = 20437

3DMark 2005 = 9748

3DMark 2006 = 5681

Wow, you can get those clocks up that high. I don't think I can go that high on the core and memory because my PS is so weak.

Also loving mine. Nice big boost in all my games. Idle temp is around 15C lower than my old card and I can't even hear the fan. (nana2)

My GTO arrives tomorrow. Can't wait to fire it up. Sure hope mine overclocks to GTX speeds. Some people seem to have great luck, others are much less impressive. One member on mvktech has two cards, one which hit GTX speeds and another which fell short. Each card had different bios versions. The card with the newer version was the one that didn't overclock as well. He flashed it with the older version and it overclocked much better. Here's the thread:

Now this is a truly significant development. I wonder if all the GTO's that shipped in GTX boxes have the older BIOS that "overclocks better". People here with the new GTO boxed cards, how does yours o/c? Can you post your BIOS revision?

A reflash to an older GTO BIOS sounds much less risky than a full GTX flash. I will have to see if i can hit 1600 mem with the old BIOS.

I have a GTO not a GT :D. The orb doesn't register these cards properly yet. My cooling mod is the stock 7900GTX cooler :).

I've overclocked the memory on my card to GTX speeds. I'm at 650MHz core and 1600MHz memory and the thing is ROCK SOLID STABLE. It seems that GTO cards with a certain BIOS that ends in .08 can be overclocked to GTX speeds. What a deal!!! A 7900GTX for $250!!!!

yup, previously i couldnt clock to 800 on the mem with the newer bios. .08 just seems to unlock this card or something
