View Full Version : How much G80 will cost?
about How much the new lineup of Nvidia Dx10 cards will cost?
WHat rumours say ,Any hope for a GT or GS version that doesnt cost more $700+ but between $300- $400 ?
I just miss the times when an enthusiast card could be bought for $300-$400.. we need the R600 now. :(

that will be awesome if true... but with 750MEgs of high quality ram, i just dont see how they will do it ,more when The rumours say ATI will not release anything until 2007. i was thinking that Nvidia Dx10 lineup is not a replacement for their Dx9 line. but a another more level in their high end.

I too would say $650 - $700 for the top end card, $599 for the next in line.

With Vista coming out in a few months (supposedly), and PCI-E 2.0, quad cores and DDR3 based system ram due by Q3 2007, I don't see the point in upgrading next month.

Between £380-£450 in the UK, I bet ya!

Huh? By that logic you should never buy any computer equipment because within 9 months (or more, which is how far away Q3 07 is) there will always be something faster. And getting a G80 is just getting Vista ready because you'll need at least G80/R600 to support Vista's DX10, so that's actually an argument for buying this right now.
If the rumors are true this is going to be a perfect time to upgrade because it's going to be such a huge performance increase that, relative to other recent releases, it's useful life is going to be significantly longer (jakup's rig being the major exception:)). My only issue is whether I can justify the cost at launch or if I wait for cheaper models like I have the last two generations.

Id pay no more than $600 tops. I'll wait it out for a few months for supplies to increase and prices to drop. I have waited this long for my big upgrade so waiting longer is not gonna hurt me at all :p
