7300gt blank screen

hi.
I've just swapped my agp graphics card, an old FX5500 for a 7300GT.
Problem is when I turn on my PC all I get is a blank screen. The fans are going, both the main one and the one on the 7300, and the power light is on, but nothing else (no beeps).
Any ideas?

My system is
K85-LA (salmon) MB
AMD ATHLON 64 3400+
1GB 3200DDR RAM

Does your mobo have onboard graphics? If it does, you could try disabling it from the BIOS.

1, Reseat Card (and ram as if its dusty inside a speck of dust can cause nightmares sometimes)

2, Clear CMOS

3, Test card in other machine.

4, Compatability Issue (flash mb bios)

Did you knock anything out when installing card?

Hmm it's a compaq right with an asus board?
That board sounds a bit flaky from what I have been reading.
