Well I finally broke down and picked up a XBOX. After vowing never to go console again. I figured what the hell since my PC fried a few months back, and while I'm being painstakingly patient on building my next gaming rig, I decided to buy my buddies XBOX. Apparently it's modded, and he makes it sound like that's the holy grail, to me it just means it has features the XBOX prolly should have had to begin with and having no prior experience on one, it's all foreign to me anyways, so, my question is what games would be worth my while? I'm pretty much an FPS person on the PC. 3rd person is cool. Basically I dont want to spend my money on crappy games, and I know some of you are die hards so I'm looking for some direction here. So far I've grabbed HL2, Farcry Instincts, Halo 2 and Doom 3:ROE and I'm actually impressed. Any suggestions as far as games (any genre actually) for an XBOX n00b. :D Thx.
DOA:3, Burnout 3, .. uhh, isn't Chronicles of Riddick on XBox? ...and Fable? How bout the sequel to Unreal Championchip?

lol, whatever
I happen to play the Halo games, the SC games, Fable, and another very important one was left out.
Jade Empire, right up there with Halo's. It's one of the best console games made and I really think you should give that one a go.
I really still like the ole xbox too, but in any case there are still some damn fine xbox games out there.
[edit]
I forgot republic commando, it doesn't work on the 360 yet, but it's also a damn fine game.
If you didn't play it when your PC was working, Chronicles of Riddick is a good one on Xbox. Also it's quite a bit different from your standard FPS (it's more of a melee combat game in fact), but I was pretty surprised by Breakdown. The level design and weapon combat is weak, but the immersiveness, hand to hand fighting system, and story are quite impressive.
For shooters, you might want to check out Metal Arms, Mechassault, Gun, and Crimson Skies. All of which are third person, the latter of which is a flight combat game (not a sim though, it has an arcade-like feel to it). Also if you're a fan of the Unreal Tournament games, you'll probably like Unreal Championship 2 (which can be had for $5 (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=6870139&st=unreal+championship&type=product&id=1093469635179), no less). Timesplitters: Future Perfect is another good action FPS game.
If you're willing to try a few quirkier titles, give Phantom Dust and Panzer Dragoon Orta a go. Might broaden your horizons a little, there aren't many games out there like them. Although, it's hard to say whether or not you'd like them when there isn't really a way to compare them to any games that I know of that are on the PC.
Dead to Rights, and that damn game where you can shoot around corners, lol

Chronicles of Riddick, any Fifa game, Mortal Kombat (deception and deadly alliance), Splinter Cell and Ninja Gaiden are worth owning. Halo 1 or 2 are bloody awful.

One of the few Xbox games that I really did enjoy. I can't stand the PC version, but when you have 4 xboxs with 16 players in one room, it becomes really sweet really fast.

I love Halo parties. Hate the single player game but LAN with 16 people is the most fun.

Oh man Splinter Cell! How could I forget that baby. After a lil web browsing I see Double Agent is coming to the box. Yipeeeee! Thanks for the suggestions. Looking into the mentioned games now. ;)

If it's modded, it works pretty nice a media center kind of thing. You can play xvid files on it with xbmc.
Anyway, as for games, these are quite good:
Jade Empire
Ninja Gaiden
Halo 1 & 2
Winning Eleven 9 (10 coming out this month I think)

one of my favorite xbox series of all time was Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. even if you dont like star wars, this game is excellent. made by bioware, a superb developer. the second one is a different developer (obsidian), still a great game. the first one got 30+ game of the year awards, and the sequel was awesome as well. look into em

Try the game "Black". It's a pretty sweet shoot em' up shooter!

I've heard very mixed reviews on that one. It's probably something to pick up once it hits the $10 mark in the used games bin, not one I'd go out and pick up brand new.
