Hey, I setup windows vista RC2 x86 on my 7600GT box, which includes the 96.77 drivers, and it has been nothing but trouble. Some games flicker at the max resolution of my monitor like company of heroes. Others like DoW: dark crusade have units invisible most of the time. Has anyone found a new nvidia driver to solve these problems or something?

I haven't, but I have similar (ish) issues. Oblivion looks fine in normal game mode, but menus flicker horribly, and the Medieval 2 demo is messed up as hell. This reinforces my belief that current Vista drivers are not really quite at the gaming level. Personally, for the moment, I'd just recommend not using Vista for gaming. The drivers are just not at the 'doing the trick' level yet. I do recall the 95 series drivers actually being lot better under RC1, so installing them might do the trick for you, if you're insistent on gaming under Vista.

Vista's drivers are only supposed to test aero's functionality at this point, being able to play any games is just a bonus. I'm not even gaming on vista til sli is enabled in the drivers.

Grey is quite right - the only reason I tried was that I committed to some workmate to run Vista full time for a week to see how feasible it really was as a primary system. Having done that I can say that it's 'totally feasible, so long as you don't require it for gaming'.

I have the same problem in CoH with a 7800 GS and Vista 5744.

I'd install 96.33 from NVidia, which works fairly well with the few games I tried. Although performance sucks compared to Windows XP. Recently Creative released new beta vista drivers for X-Fi etc, I hope NVidia also release new drivers soon. And I really hope they make some drastic performance increases too.

Although Vista is some months away, it has been in development for very long time so you cant really say that 3rd part companies havn't had time to work on it. :P

There are rumors all over the web (not just INQ) of both new beta Vista drivers (96.85) and new Win XP drivers (93.10), coming from nVidia this week. I'm sure we'll have a lot to talk about.
