I have a evga 7800gtx 256 and i'm wondering if it would be beneficial to upgrade to anything faster (7950gx2,x1950xtx)? this is my current setup:
amd a64 4000+
2 gig corsair xms
asus a8n-sli.
I'm wondering if I did upgrade if I would see enough improvement to justify it?

Your better off getting a 7900GT since its faster than the 7800GTX.

You definantly won't see enough improvement to justify getting a 7900GT. If I were you, I would just wait for G80.

Oops, sorry I didn't read his question properly, I thought he was saying he wants to buy a 7800GTX.

dont settle for DirectX 9 cards when Dx 10 is right around the corner

With your setup, you should either consider another 7800GTX or waiting for G80. Two 7800GTX's in SLi will beat any single-card solution out right now (except for the GX2, of course. Not sure how close that would be.)

You'd see a decent improvement with a 7900GTO if you can get one. I have basically the same specs and I can definitely notice a difference when I got mine. I went from a 7800gtx oc to the GTO and gained at least an average of 15-20fps in oblivion outdoors (city areas are still cpu limited, but still higher on average than before by a good margin) and at least 30 fps on average on the css stress test. All that and my video idle temp dropped about 15C in the bargain.

It's not a huge leap, but I'm quite happy that I decided to snag one in case I don't jump on the G80 bandwagon right away (even if I do, I could use this one to step up with).

Dont upgrade now .. wait for the G80.
