Whats is the mininum PSU required to run a PCI express 7900GS based vid card?

20amps on the 12v rail. i ran it on an old 350watt enermax with a broken fan for a few weeks before i returned it for my gto. ran the gto with my current psu though.

qft, just watchout for cheap generic brand PSU's. Often if it says for example it puts out 400 watts, it might be actually a lot lower and less stable rails. While total wattage is important, its critical to ensure the amps on the rails are sufficient.

Hopefully is an ok PSU. Will take a look at it tonight as its my mates PC. Its a Dell so I wonder what type of PSU's they use? I know its rated at 350W

If you can, try and take off the side panel of the computer and look at the sticker thats on the PSU. It will list what amps are at each voltage (there should be the 12v, 5v and 3.3v). As long as it says 20 or more on the 12v and at least 350watts you should be good.
