Hi,

got this card:

http://www.dabs.com/productview.aspx?Quicklinx=4992&SearchType=1&SearchTerms=GeForce+7900GTO+512MB+PCIE+DVI&PageMode=3&SearchKey=All&SearchMode=All&NavigationKey=0

motherboard is an AW9D-MAX.

and when the comp boots into Windows XP I get this message:

One thing I noticed when setting up the card was that there was no mention of connecting any power lead from the PSU to it, I was very surprised at this since it is a monster of a card with a huge fan.

But I don't really see where on the card a power lead could connect.

Any help on this would be much appreciated!

Thanks

You need to connect the power to the card. Here is a pic, it is a 6 pin black connector.

Cheers,

I am a bit of a noob with all this, although I did assemble this PC :captnkill:

Erm, I don't see any power leads that are 6 pinned... eeek

I've got the 2 atx leads connected up to the mobo and that's it, none others available... this is a bit annoying, is there such a thing as an adapter which converts one of those regular 4pin power leads (the ones that power IDE/SATA drives etc) into a plug that would fit into the gfx card - i've never seen a 3x2pin plug before.

cheers

^ They do make adapters, but it's kind of odd that you don't have any PCI-Express connectors coming from that PSU. I'll see if I can find an adapter for you.

Here ya go. Make sure to read the reviews on newegg; looks like it can be a little quirky:

Does the MSI one not come with that adapter in the box? My EVGA card came with a power adapter just like the one pictured above, though I don't need it since I have an sli psu that has two power connectors of that type.

Hehe, I'm a muppet.

After looking at that picture I checked the box and saw the adapter, (I had assumed at the time that it was for something to do with running 2 gfx cards since the install instructions made no mention of any power leads)

thanks for all your help though, without you guys I'd still be running it without the power!!
