I don't understand why all universities don't use Packeteer. That program essentially renders file sharing programs useless. We had that on our university network my senior year. As a result, downloads that averaged 10 kb/s at their worst, increased about 20-fold once we choked file-sharing traffic.

P2P is just for lamers that cant effectively use the newsgroups. I mean, BNR with 4 simultaneuous 50KBps streams down will get you alot more data than any P2P service populated mostly by pimplyfaced dialup users. Besides, I can find more of what I what I want on the ngs.
