I know Vista has some overheard in the OS, probably about 5% (?) more than XP so i would expect perf scores to be down a little bit.

Hmm. It says "For a full list of fixes issues, please view the Release Notes.", but the release notes don't appear to exist yet.

I'm wondering if SLI works yet. If not, I won't bother.

Great Timing, I was just going to look and see if they had new drivers yet. I'm going to post that the RTM might be on schedule for OCT 25.

Shouldn't the newer touted driver model make up for this "overhead".

Although for people with smaller ammounts of memory there will be a larger performance gap. Actually now that I think about it won't we need more than 2gb for optimal Vista performance?

Well if the OS takes up more system memory, nothing you can do about it...

Yeah there is... add more memory!

Yeah there is... add more memory!

Yea but if the OS just has more overhead, all the memory in the world may not help.

I'll wait for the indepth benchmarks to see how it all falls out.

What's interesting is their page isn't linking to the WHQL one. If you browse via the FTP there is both the whql and non whql drivers. If it wasn't download so slow I could try downloading both of them and seeing if they are both whql.

SLI still doesn't work, but this set is very stable so far.

css still less than half fps than with xp

4x AA/ 8x AF with everything else on high gives 140fps in xp and....

54 for vista..

oh ya... is that Quake Wars: Enemy Territory profile new?

Will these install properly with a 7950?

Edit: Nevermind, it says they're only for RC2 and I only have RC1.

Read my post above. :D (It's on the first page)

Hell I'll make it easy on you

I was able to test right before I left for work and it seems the other one is WHQL. Althought I couldn't get the control panel like it said so I'm not sure what was up with that.

Your nvcp isn't in vista cp? That's where I found it after installing.

No, I think I pissed something off when installing it. :) I looked in there and it wasn't to be found. I'm going to try reinstalling when I get home. Thanks for confirming that is where it is supposed to end up though. I'd be looking through everything imaginable going "where the **** is it?!?"

LOL! yeah, done that myself. So far with every "installed" set of drivers, that's where it's been for me.

How in the world do you enable overclocking with this driver? I have Nvtweak/tray latest and no o/c options anywhere. is ther another way to o/c the card yet?

I found it after turning on class CP.
Next question, what about resolutions. For some reason I can't get above 1280 x 1024 so i can't set my native 1440 x 900. Anyone know how to fix that?

That and the color profile SUX! But I already knew that from XP.

if you can't set your native resolution, basically vista doesn't like your monitor, and can't read your monitor info.
