So where the heck is the G80 stuffs for us to boggle at? I thought the inq' was sayin that today a bunch of info was going to be revealed?

It is being revealed but the people it is being revealed to sign a NDA. The public doesn't find out the info till the NVidia Lan Event which is in November.

Oh I c, thx for the info, I just was confused by the Inq'd post and then I search all the hardware websites I know of. Nothing to be seen about the G80.

You can find pretty much all the info you need about G80 at DailyTech.

There should be a thread about it somewhere around here.

Tikiman44, would it compromise the NDA if you were to comment on how you felt about the G80 (upon seeing its specs / performance data) by comparison with how you felt upon hearing about previous new cards, i.e. the NV40 range or the ATi R500 range. Were your expectations met or even surpassed???

I can say that this card will be the most extreme gaming card available. It is going to make people blow chuncks and crap thier pants. And I am not talking about the price, I am talking about the utter uber performance this card will do for games. Plus, there are some new features that will make one lose thier mind. :captnkill: (nana2)

I'm going to take a guess at one of the amazing features...

The "unified" shaders are going to cover all of the normal functions of a graphics card along with physics. Meaning, no matter what kind of load youre getting in a game, the video card will adapt to process it quickly. The only exception would be the CPU trying to process a lot of geometry and AI (like in Oblivion). But since physics will be handled by the video card, the CPU will be able to handle other things easier.

What do you guys think?

If theres any truth in this, just cough. :p

NV's NDA's are pretty powerful... I even called up Buddha and asked his advice on some way to break mine nicely... and all he said was "You have no idea what you're playing with".

So, yeah... :naughty:

Man, I remember a full 2 page layout of the Nvidia TNT architexture in PC Games magazine back in the 90's. Now look at me, scouring forum threads for tid bits of info about a chip thats been around for months and months now. How sad...
