Does anyone know if I buy a 7900GTO, that I can step it up to a G80 when its out?

yeah only if its between 3 months period as i think, and as i have experienced with other cards.

I know you can't go the other way. I tried to StepUp a 7950 GX2 to two 7900 GTOs and was told, "They aren't part of the program."

qft, limited edition cards are not included in evga's stepup program.

I asked jAkUp this and he couldn't give me an answer at the time. You might PM him to make sure or at least bring your question to his attention thru this thread. Actually, I think what he couldn't comment on was when the G80 would be released and that eVGA hasn't put out any info yet as far as the Step-Up programs goes pertaining to this. I had planned on doing the same thing though and still might.

You guys should take a closer look at the terms & conditions under their site as it is possible EVGA does not offer G80 for StepUp:



Unreleased or future products may not become available or have limited availability for the Step-up™ Program. In the event of limited availability, product will be distributed on a first come first serve basis at the sole discretion of EVGA.
