Yeah, i saw your link too, in the other thread but thought about making a new one since the old one's title didn't clarify this.
Just so that everybody knows and gets a chance to contribute to the feedback :D
Thanks for the info though.

Sweet! Thanks for the heads-up!
I can't wait to install this. :D I just hope my plugins get updated real soon...
Got it installed.
Likes:
1) Finally found the option to open my previous tabs next time I start Firefox
Dislikes:
1) Scrolling with the mouse wheel is too slow.. Opera feels more responsive
2) No way to access my mail.. Opera has this built in
3) Smilies on nvnews are all hyper speed now.. Opera and IE seem to render them more correctly
Anyone know of workarounds for these issues?

Hmm...I'm not having any of the problems you mentioned. :( Sorry dude.
I really like the overall changes to the UI. The transparency is really nice. I also like the automatic spellchecker built in. That's pretty badass.

They are not really problems so much as inconveniences.
You have a mail button? If so, where? I like to be able to access my mail directly from the browser. I believe Firefox 1.5 had a button to open up Thunderbird, but it seems to be gone now.
Spellchecker sounded nice at first, but then I disabled it because I can spell pretty good and figured it would just waste CPU cycles.

Thanks for the heads up gonna download now and post my thoughts in a bit.
Looks pretty slick so far. I like the built in spell checker. Still need more time to play around with it but I'm liking it.

No, I don't have any mail button. I just use Gmail and the Gmail notifier for Firefox.

Whoa...instinctively (from using MS Word so much) I right-clicked on one of the spelling errors, and it popped up with some suggested re-spellings as well as the option to add the word to my custom dictionary.
Friggin' sweet!

Has anyone else's ALT+S to post broken?
Mine opens History now :(
EDIT: It appears to be ALT+Shift+S now.
EDIT2: Found a fix. In about:config change
ui.key.chromeAccess to 5
ui.key.contentAccess to 4

Firefox was intended to be a stripped down version of Mozilla for those that didn't want all the extras attached to their web browser. You may want to give Mozilla a look over if your interested in a built in browser. Personally I keep my Thunderbird button in my quick launch part of the toolbar so I can access it at any time.
As far as the spell checker wasting CPU cycles I did a check with running the old 1.5 that I haven't deleted yet and 2.0 final and never noticed any difference. CPU stayed between 0-2 percent for both.
As for the mouse scrolling, I don't know of anyway to speed it up in only Firefox. The smilies are something I'm having a problem in with IE 7. While the banana man is dancing at the same speed on both, in IE 7 alot of the smiles don't move. Captn's tongue is fozen and the pirate doesn't laugh. odd

Actually, Firefox renders them correctly. In IE everything animates at a set speed. Gifs have custom frame speeds though, and Firefox uses them correctly.
BTW, does anyone know if AdBlock works with FF 2.0? I want to upgrade but I'm not going to go a second without my ad block.
EDIT: never mind, it seems to be working great.
Wow... spell checker too. I like. :D
Oh sweet! You can edit the search engines list now.
And the interface looks very nice.
I like FF 2.0 already.
kick. ass.

For some reason, I can't log into my router with FF 2.0. It starts to load up the page, but then it stops. I type in my password and then it says it can't connect because the connection is down. It works fine with IE and Opera.

Thats strange.
Mine works fine. I'm using an old Linksys router.

Try clearing out your cache. I had the same problem.

I'll update from the Beta version when I get home...if I even have too. Wish I could install it here at work. I hate IE 6.0!

Final is out, for real this time ;) www.getfirefox.com
crainger, thanks for the about:config tip. I found a way to configure my mouse wheel in there.
Now to figure out why all the smilies and avatars look like they're on speed.. So no one else notices this?
View My Video (http://video.tinypic.com/player.php?v=2pz9the) (Firefox on left, IE7 on right). Nothing major, but I just find it odd that all the animated pictures render too fast.
