View Full Version : R6 Vegas Demo on LIVE!!!!!
gogogogogog
EDIT:
ah damn
A single-player Rainbow Six Vegas demo is now available on Live, unless you happen to live in the U.S., Canada, or Mexico, due to an exclusivity agreement Ubisoft and Microsoft made with OXM to allow the magazine to distribute the demo first in North America.

Gamers in the US can still download the demo by creating a European Live account.

I just finished playing it and its superb. Tactical elements, graphics, atmosphere, sound, etc. Everything is on point. Raven Sheild fans who were upset when the series took a down hill dive can be happy again. The ragain health elemnt didnt seem out of place at all and I didnt even notice it. The other new elements like fast roping and repelling is great and seem second nature. Also your team mates are not bumbling idiots like the ones in GRAW and you actually feel they have your back. R6/GRAW fans will love this and its must buy IMO.

Got this is from another site but this is how you go about making a non-us region account. I would go with the Japan one being that its pretty fast and not too much traffic.
First off you should go to the passport site : http://www.passport.com/. Make sure you are not logged in, and click on the "create hotmail account" link. Now, here is the important part, the site will ask you where you are from, select either Japan, the US, or Europe. Remember, this is the country where the demo is available, not where you really live! You will require some information regarding those countries so Microsoft will allow you ro register the e-mail address.
Here is the info we used:
United States
Postal Code: 10012
State: New York, City New York City
Phone Number: 1-866-530-1234
Japan
Postal Code: 150-2345
Province: Tokyo-to
Phone Number: 3201-3331
Europe/Germany
Postal Code: 54292
City: Trier
Phone Number: 065112345
You can use any valid address and phone number from the country where the demo is available.
Once you have filled out the info and applied for the Hotmail account, activate it and turn on your Xbox360. Press the guide button and choose "switch profile" (X Button). Now create a new profile, and a new Xbox Live Account, make it a Silver account instead of a Gold and assign it to the hotmail account you just made. Finish the setup and login your new account. Go to the marketplace to download the content you want. It should be noted, just because you downloaded the content, doesn't mean that it will be playable. Some demo's may be region locked to the specific region it was designed for.

No US?? Ahh man when I read the title I got SUPER HAPPY! So when do we get it?
After the new OXM is out I'm guessing. MS did the same thing with the F.E.A.R. demo.

If anyone is apprehensive about creating a non-US account, just note that the demo is in full english and can be played on your normal account even if you delete the account you made for the demo.
lol I'd boycott OXM if I was american :p
Didn't know jAkUp had a 360?
I'll try it tomorrow, getting too late here :)

Yes but it takes maybe 5 minutes. Just signout and create a new account. Its worth it for this demo alone plus other demos they may get before us. Once created you can play it on your regular account with no problem. The same demo may show up for the US today.

Liquidx thank you so much. **** that mag and their bull**** attempt to make me buy their product. I was never their customer but will do everything I can to make sure no one I know buys it.
Anywho liquid your my hero thanks a million.
Played the demo and while fun its ceartainly still has framerate issues, this is dissapointing because since its so close to launch they will probably still be there in retail.
I get to try this tomorrow.(nana2) Everything since RVS has been ****. I hope they dont BS up the PC version like they did graw.

See what they mean about your team mates AI being better than normal. Seems they can actually take care of themselves for a change, which is awesome.
There are no words. I just hope the PC version is not a wack job. But they did say it was the consoles version that was modled after the PC version so we will see. The game is pure quality. Next to Medal of Honor this has always been my game. Me, my brother and friends played in a clan for years and never thought they would do another R6 game justice after RVS and its better success on XBox so I had to go play this game at my brother and it didnt dissapoint. All is forgiven if the full game plays as well as this.
The cover moves are ****ing awesome and I just hope that translate over to the PC version well. It has the best cover system I have ever seen. You can even no look return fire to get them jumping. The breaching of rooms they got right but my teammates seem to always kill everything in the room before I get a shot off except when I send them in from another side. And that grappling I thought would be a mess but it works and is cool as ****.
And I have to talk about the AI team mates, the AI team mates, the AI teammates. Was I ****ing dreaming? There was a part where I was pinned and my men got on both sides of me and started banging away and they actually took out the guy. AI was working as much as us. You actually want them close to you instead of sending them in soem corner so they wont get killed. What was a funny moment was when one of them told me to get out of the line of fire.:rofl
My only beef with this game which are really nothing are..
-The speed is fine and perfect but I like having my slow walk with the gun to my chest.
- Graphics look better than any shooter on the PC but Unreal 3 engine is really not that mind blowing. I think I read that this is the Unreal 3 engine. I mean it looks better than anything out there and just like the screen shots but its not a huge jump over what UBI did with GRAW on the 360 and it looks like the same engine if you ask me.
-The main guy when he is in the helo talking sounds like he was talking over one of those drive through mics. Your team mates sound gruff and hard and you sould like a chump. It just kind of stood out because it sounds so forced.
