Okay, it sounded as if SLi would not be possible at all with the thread title. But after reading that article it is clear that SLi will be possible... eventually. :(

I hope that by the time G80 ships, SLi will be fully functional. After all, I am planning on buy two 8800GTXs.

Is it just me, or do these guys sound like a bunch of ATi homers? It seems they never have anything positive to say about nVidia.

Give Inq a week they will change their story. Take everything from Inq with a grain of salt, in fact...save the salt just don't believe them. They tend to make bold statements then make new statements that contradict the old statements so that their statements appear to always be correct.

They are however fun to read at times, kinda like The Onion or Fark ;)

If you are referring to the Inq, I actually never noticed. But, it does seem that most of what they say about nVidia is negative.

Hmm...

nV didn't invite the Inq to the Editors Day... now they are talking trash to pay it back... pfff.

maybe it has something to do with vista, nvidia having problems enabling sli in vista?

no kidding. Why would you invite a site who's sole intent is leaking NDA classified information to the public.

With SLi being as big as it is among gaming on PCs, I'm sure nVidia will have SLi up running by the time G80 hits retails shelves. I'll be greatly disappointed if they don't. And I'm sure many others will feel the same.

Hell I'm pretty damn sure Nvidia will be disappointed themselves. I think everything will get sorted out. SLI may not work to its full potential at release but newer drivers should come in the following months to boost performance.

Inq claim all different types of stories so who knows how much of a spin they put on this one.

On top of the fact that they weren't allowed at Editor's day. :p

Too bad for them. :)

I don't know why people even read that site. They post every rumor they hear as though it was news and that way, when the truth comes out, they can point back and say, "533! W3 T01D J000!"

The Inq is trying to get a reaction from Nvidia. They apparently have been taken down of the "contact" list from NV, and now are desperately trying to get some news from them
Remember the "12000 3DM06 but R600 will be faster.." snippet?
How can they make assumptions on unreleased HW?

Because that's what the INQ does.

I am just trying to figure out why HDCP will be borked?

That makes little to no sense.

The SLi issues I can understand, it is a new card after-all, heck look at the 7950.

I can't even understand why was INQ expecting to get invited.

Yeah it doesn't make much sense since some Geforce 7 already have it and G80 was surely built from the ground up already with HDCP in mind, it's not impossible though.

And whenever there are good news about nVidia, they always end the article with " but R600 will be faster... ", or something in those lines.

That's what I thought, too. I mean, even after G80 specs were leaked, they were immediately saying how R600 would be faster without any specs whatsoever about it. WTF?

I think this website spawns from the same "ENQUIRER" you can find in your local supermarket checkout lines.

Anything that tries to further erode your rights on behalf of the movie industry is borked by design. :captnkill:

Their claims that DirectX9L as they chose to call it was DX10 for XP was laughable..
"Our sources" and all that.. **** a 5 year old could google up more accurate info then that..
And it wasnt ever called DirectX9L, it was always D3D9L until they changed it to D3D9Ex..

Well, I recall them spurting about 10 different versions of NV30 before it was released (think it was NV30), one of them turned out to be correct, but that was most likely sheer luck..
Never did put much stock in what they say, and it seems very few do, other then when its "info" they can use in a argument..

Whoa, your post just gave me serious deja-vu. I had to keep checking the date because I swear I read that exact thing sometime before. Creepy.

And on topic, The Inq = will believe it when I see it.
