Who wouldn't buy the additional hd-drive if they have an lcd-tv and already own an xbox360? 199$<700-1000$(hd-drive<hd-dvd player). So including the hd-drive in the comparison isn't all that wrong as I see it. But they should subtract 150$ from the price of the xbox360 as a premium system already offers a wireless controller and a harddrive, and add another 10$ for an hdmi cable to the price of the ps3.
If you just want a console for gaming, the xbox360 wins hands down, but for consumers wanting to invest in the future, the ps3 really offers more than the xbox360.
Btw. has anyone got any info on how many hours of gameplay the ps3 games, using the full capacity of a bluray disc, are going have? I mean most dx10 games look better than any title seen on the ps3, yet they only use 1/4 of the capacity of a bluray disc. The ps3 hardware can only run games that are graphically on par with the xbox360 games, and those also only use 1/4 of the capacity of a br disc. This should equal 4times longer games in my mind(I hope, or a ton of extras!). :D
I don't think the extra capacity will equate into longer gameplay since that just adds to the development time. I do expect to see a lot of CGI cutscenes that appeals to Japanese gamers. I imagine Final Fantasy will have a ton of it.

I didn't buy the sueing thing for a second. After looking at those charts, I saw that they were too vague and would be impossible to make a strong case out of it. In fact, even if it was true, it would be a dumb move by Microsoft since the sony event was held for the press, not even the public, most of those people already know the score.... it didn't trick anyone I don't think.

It was speculation as I remember.
