Animated GIFs

I noticed that this is disabled. Curious as to why? Also some people (like Cap'n) seem to still have an animated avatar.

I know there have been threads already but a cursory glance didn't show any posts indicating why this ability was removed. The files themselves are tiny so I know it isn't a space issue..

A lot of other vbulletin boards disabled them because it annoyed the users. Fair point, can you imagine a thread fully of bouncing, swinging and spinning CaptNKILLs of all shapes and colours? It would be pretty annoying.

Is it possible to have a mod add an animated gif for say... Long time sensible members? I have a animated version of max waving I'd love to use :D

CaptNKills still has his because he never removed it, We have a grandfather system here so that new ones cant be added but existing ones aren't affected.

Hmm I don't find them annoying though I suppose it would depend on the avatar. It's only one picture in each post, and a tiny one at that.

I noticed all the smilies with animation weren't working, but I figured it was just on my rig since every page I view, in the lower left corning of IE7 it says "Error on page."

Hmm, I feel better now knowing that it isn't just me. :D

Great, that just confirms that something isn't right with my rig.

Oh well, I'll just live with it. Wont be long till I have a completely new one. And I probably will wait till the OEM copies of Vista show up on Newegg. Then I'll get my new rig with the new Windows as well.
