what would be better for a 533 fsb p4 system. DDR 400 or Rambus pc-800, or pc1024?

I would buy DDR 400 cheaper but for P4 best overcloak you can get from Rambus PC-1024

For a P4 yes, Rambus memory is faster.

Yes, RDRAM has always been faster than DDR.
There are very few places where the extra speed would come in handy, though.
Also, that may change with Nforce2
DDR400 is pitted against RDRAM 800, 1024? never heard of it i have heard of PC1066/800/600/4200/3200

it's just a typo, i'm, sure he means PC1066(not PC1024). right now, PC1066 RDRAM is faster. but with new mobos coming out from SiS and Intel, that advantage is slim to none.

Yeah, PC1066 RDRAM is the best for P4 systems but for AMD's go for PC3000DDR
