Yeah, that's 11 inches. It will just barely fit in my ThermalTake Tsunami case.
I will have about 1/2 inch clearance between the end of the card and the lower HDD cage. But... it WILL fit! :captnkill:

Damn, I will have to measure it when I get home. I think it will barely fit in my case.

I know itl fit in mine.

And if it doesnt, I'll get out my brother's saws-all to make some room, and then eventually get a different case. :p

EATX cases FTW!

Although I can see these blocking some of my sata ports, it is gunna be close.

I spent about 15 minutes the other night measuring and remeasuring the distance from the end of the motherboard plate to the HD cage. I'll have about an inch to spare if I purchase the GTX. And a new case? No way, I spent 250 for this one last year and I'm not in the habit of going through towers so quickly, plus looking for this one to live through more than a couple builds.

So i guess this makes it the third longest card in history ? (next to the Wildcat Realism & the Voodoo 6).

For GPU's yeah, but there are plenty of server type cards that are extremely long, SAS and SCSI

So...how much longer is this over, say, a 7900 GS?

Guess I will be sure to get something like a Coolermaster 810 for my next PC.

I'm curious as to how it compares to a 7950GX2 myself. My GX2 is pretty massive and the 2 boards are a huge pain in the ass because they cover up my SATA ports. Just having 1 PCB will help a lot but I'm hoping the GTX isnt too much longer.

My friend is getting a 8800GTX but he's concerned about the long PCB.
he has a Thermaltake Shark & when he measured it seems that theres only space for 27cm , otherwise it will hit the HDD drivebay bars.
can anyone confirm that ? does that mean its a no go for the Shark ??!

the shark is a full tower so if it doesn't fit in there then that is plain dumb

I would tell him to remeasure, from the opening in the back

He did! also he measured his XTX & told me its about 23cm which is ~ exactly what the Inq reported (this shows he was measuring correctly). i'm sure he's accurate.
he said its 27.5cm to be exact.

anyway i'll ask him to remeasure.

I just measured my GX2 & its ~23cm.
if that Inq story is true then this PCB is too f***ing long!!
the only good thing is the power connectors which are placed on the top end of the card rather than the right side as all other cards.

I think you guys are overreacting. I mean yeah, it's long, but all it requires is a little DIY work. Relocate your hard drive(s) and take a handsaw/jigsaw to your hard-drive cage if you have to and chisel out a section so that it'll fit.

A little ghetto, sure, but if having a PCB an inch or so longer helped them build a more powerful graphics card, I'm all for it.

But then again, all of my stuff is going in a SuperTower so I don't have to worry about any of this. I'll still have a spare 4-5" at least. :p

I'm not worry about my Kandalf .. its has a plenty of space to stuff a Quad 8800GTX if you want , but those poor fellas with small-med towers planning a 8800GTX :p
