Well, Ive had my Santa Cruz for about 6 months now and its been pretty good. Athlough lacking in hardware sound quality, everything else is great.

Ive been waiting for new drivers for a while, but TB hasent dont much (accoring to their website) in about a year. I just read at 3d sound surge, that Turtle Beach HAS DROPPED OUT OF THE SOUND CARD BUSINESS!!!!!!!!!!!!

So... I thought, I guess any new drivers will be 3rd party from now on. So I looked around the 3dSS forums for driver info. I found out that TB released the 4167 drivers AND the 4164 drivers (the numbers are very close). I decided to look into this because I couldnt remember which one I had.....
I had 4164!! Great! That means I can upgrade!

So I went to TB's driver page, and sure enough, there they were, 4167 WDM drivers for Windows 98SE.

So i clicked the link........ NOTHING. They must have shut down the freaking ftp server as soon as they dropped out of the business. I searched the net for about 2 hours looking for these drivers and they are NO WHERE to be found. Absolutly NO WHERE. I found the Me\XP\2k versions (from IBM) but I need the 98se compatable version. If someone can show me where to get these, or can send them to me, ID BE VERY VERY HAPPY!!!!

Thanks :)

Turtle Beach went out of business......... On the other hand don't expect new drivers unless some 3rd party source writes some.

Thanks for the driver link, I got a TBSC a few months back and have just been using the drivers off the CD for it. (Hey, they worked! ;) )

Great soundcard, me loves it!

If I don't get an nForce2 motherboard, my TBSC is going to travel. :)

This sound card has some of the best, most stable Windows XP drivers I've ever had the pleasure of installing. And the control panel is easy to use. I was able to configure 5.1 sound with my Altec Lansing speakers without any trouble whatsoever.

I'm using the 4167 IBM drivers myself and they've been performing flawlessly. I'm not concerned about lack of future driver updates because frankly, I don't need them. :D

I was content with my TBSC, but I don't remember even setting up the onboard sound on the a7n8x deluxe, and it's going through my reciever as Dolby Digital constantly. No problems with it yet....

Agreed! I went to TurtleBeach because I was having problems with SBLive + WinXP. I'll never go back to creative after that, Turtle BEach has been very stable and very good to me :)
