I don't know of any TVs that accept 1080p over Component. There's barely that many that accept 1080p via HDMI (newest Samsung DLP, Sony A2000 & XBR2, JVC F*97, HP DLP and the newest Toshiba maybe), even less that accept 1080p via VGA (newest Samsung *88 DLP, Sony XBR2) and I've never heard of one that accepts 1080p via Component.

It looks like a nice update, but why only wmv streaming playback support? I got tons of mpeg and mov files I would love to stream...

Wow, can't wait. Pretty sure it won't make much of a difference for my setup right now but it's all good.

A nice update, I like the ability to stream video files from pretty much anything now. I wish they would support non-WMV files, but I wouldn't expect anything less from Microsoft since they're trying to push the format so heavily.

Now if only they'd release a web browser...

Damn, this is awesome. Sooner than I expected too, I didnt think they would release the update until the HD-DVD addon was released.

Well, this coincides well with the arrival of my new Dell 2407 soon :D

*Hoping that 1920x1080 wont be an issue with it over VGA*

It's also wonderfully ironic that MS have 1080p support out in the market before the PS3 even launches :p

Play video from storage devices such as USB flash drives, Xbox 360 Memory Units, etc.
Play video from CD or DVD data discs.

Great. No longer do you need WinXP MCE to stream video. Now they just need to allow the option to store them.

Nice update. I guess I need to get a wireless network adapter for the X360 so I can connect it to the network.

So tell me, which 1080p game will be out for Xbox360 before PS3 is launched?

Your statement only holds true if one buys the HD-DVD add-on.

SC: DA supports 1080p, it's already out ;)

Plus a game doesn't have to be 1080P native for it to run at 1080P, there will probably an upscaler for the regular 720p games.

If that was the case then we wouldn't have fanboys ranting over Resistance being "downgraded" to 720p now would we?

I wasn't referring to upscaled 1080p, I was talking about native 1080p. AFAIK Splinter Cell: DA on 360 does not do it natively.

There's been rumors on the internets that it is 1080p. As far as games being 1080p, if they can that's great, if they can't thats just as good. I don't have a HDTV that supports 1080p... so it's pointless to me. But yeah I'm definet. not like boasting that 360 has 1080p and ps3 doesn't, cuz it's not out. I think all 1080p games will have some kind of a "catch" to them, I just don't see how both the 360 and the PS3 can do 1080p with superb looking games.

It's really easy to convert "downloaded" HD movies (pirate) to wmv :) Takes about 5 mins on my core2 :p And the quality is AMAZING on the tv.

No a DVD9 sized WMV looks just as good as the 15gb MPEG2 files that you are converting from.
