Looks like the earlier reports were true then. Was looking forward to seeing this come true, might be interesting to replay the old Tomb Raider with elements from Legends.

Although I'm surprised there's no Xbox or Xbox 360 release, does the fact that it's only on PS2, PSP, and PC mean that there won't be a "next gen mode" like there was for Legends? It seemed like the only reason they made that an option was because of the development on the Xbox 360.

I'm actually looking forward to this. I really enjoyed the first Tomb Raider and its sequel.

I'm a total sucker for the TR series and I loved the original TR (and I also loved Last Revelation) so I'm happy about this announcement. I hope the excellent music in the original makes a return along with the original theme music but I doubt it since that all belongs to Core right?

I hope its the next gen version of the Legends engine since it ran well for me for the most part but it doesn't matter. Since its done by Crystal Dynamics I have faith it'll be a quality product.

More screenshots please CD!!!

Maybe the G80 will handle next-gen mode a little better.

Maybe .. but do you think the performance hit with the next gen mode was worth it for the graphics you get ?

Yea definetely, maybe a unified shader architecture card will be able to handle an engine like that better, it ran decent on the XB360.

Oh hell yeah! Man I loved that game! I just hope they keep the original soundtrack because it was one of the best sounding games I've ever played!

No 360? Lame.

Legend on 360 was quite nice.

I've been playing Legend on my 8800GTX and it is smooth as silk. All next gen options on 16AA+16AF. Looks amazing.

Are you sure 16xAA was working ?!

I think it should - playing Next Gen mode in Marvel Ultimate Alliance with my G80 is very entertaining. The few other people I know from other forums with this game and no G80 find it very unplayable.

As far as TR is concerned, this somewhat excites me (I honestly don't remember a whole lot about the original since I played it so long ago) but I'd rather they release the sequal to Legend and include the original upgrade free ;)

wow..some of those textures are horrendous but you know what.. if it has that classic TR gameplay with lots of big places to explore I'm freakin buying it anyways.

Looked like it. I didn't see any jaggies. If it wasn't AA, then the engine is great, if a little previous gen unfriendly.

Ubisoft should get some lessons from Eidos on how a port should be done.

Hey folks...check out the official TR: Anniversary site (http://www.tombraideranniversary.com/). They put up the main theme for TR:Anniversary which is a remake of the original TR:1 theme! They put in these presspack things with renders used throughout the series and there is even a music cd download with lots of TR music from the entire series (with each main theme) free to download! Should keep you guys drooling until the game comes out!

I'm listening to the main TR:1 theme right now..I love it!

Has anyone watched the trailer? I absolutely HATE what they've done to her face! Completely lost the look of Lara, IMO. Should have left her the way she was in Legend.
