Drove all over the place looking for a copy. Lots of places said they won't have it until tomarrow or it won't be on the shelves until later tonight, and I'm sure as hell won't be driving around looking for video games on Halloween night:p . Time to give in to direct2drive.

They previewed it on Good Game last night. They said it was pretty good. Rather in-depth and fiddly and a system hog. I might skip this one unless the story is extremely engaging (I'm talking in the realms of KOTOR here).

Look forward to everyones comments.

this game hasa chance to push me ati.
if it performs bad i will have to push the move to cart and purchase button without waiting for a 8800 lol.
probably wont be till january that 8800s are actually available without competing with people to find it on a respectable website.

I was a huge fan of the original NWN....played through it and the expansions twice :D
The GameSpot and IGN both gave NWN2 thumbs up  in their "first impressions" good enough for me...I'm going to pick it up today and actually do something other than WoW ;)

Is there something I need to do to take advantage of SLI in this game? It's not listed on the SLI page at the invidia website but I noticed the steps to add games in the control panel to do it.

Only problem is that I have never tried using that thing before and it's a little confussing.

If you don't use profiles just force a global setting to AFR or AFR2 and see which one works best. Then let us know

there is allot more to SLI then just AFR or AFR2, there are bunch of compability tags.

sli value could be something close to KOTOR KOTOR 2, its the same engine(Aurora Engine) just updated.

Yeah true, but if the guy isn't familiar with profiles then how is he gunna add compatability bits...

I created a profile using the nwn2.exe and placed it on AFR, then AFR2, Force split, and then single and I get the same exact peformance in all settings.

I average about 15-25 FPS.

This is on a +4800 X2 Athlon, 1.5 RAM, 2x 7900 GT OC SLI system too. Wondering if it's my setup or the game.

Disabling things like bloom and shadows will gain me about 5 FPS each but everything else does nothing.

Gaming at 1440x900 widescreen. No AA or AS set.

It's actually VERY different from the aurora engine. I followed the development for a while, and I remember they were just going to modify the aurora engine at first, but they actually scrapped that idea and created a new DX9 engine from scratch.

I'm sure they borrowed a lot of D&D code from the aurora engine, but as far as graphics are concerned the two engines are VERY different.
