Could I <laughingly> politely ask which currently available nVidia card you think is superior to the 9700 Pro from ATI? :)

What a joke :bs: .... I guess we should starting comparing workstations video cards since that has so much validity in an argument about desktop video cards. Fact is Nvidia has nothing right now to compete with ATI and I guess its now when we see the true brainwashed nvidiots come throught the woodwork. We really don't care who makes the fastest video, we want something thats gonna ohhh and aahh us when we pop it into our computers. But, when it comes to the crap Nvidia has blown out of their asses over the past 8 to 9 months about he NV30 and what its going bring to the table, it becomes a little annoying and actually strikes a little fanATIcism in all of us. I don't know about you guys, but I'm gonna be sitting here and enjoying to see how much more of a performer the R350 is and actually have a chance to use it.

Um preformance isnt eveyrthing for eveorn.
I like to use linux, has the best linux drivers. But also I am turned off by the horror stories about useing the radeons with VIA chipsets (espcially the 9000). But i like linux so ill have to stick witht he company that offers linux support.

Well, if you're going to mention niche cards, then take a look at this:

http://www.es.com/news/2002+press+archive/1202a.asp

About simFUSION 6000
simFUSION 6000 offers unbeatable PC-IG performance and image quality, with 2-to-24-sample full-scene antialiasing at screen resolutions up to 2048x1536 and fill rates up to 9.6Gpix/sec. OGL 1.3, D3D 9.0, and Linux compatible, simFUSION configurations include two or four ATI RADEON 9700 graphics chips, one or three DVI-I outputs, a DVI input, and Chanlock?channel synchronization. Genlock to internal or external video and 256MB of unified memory are standard in all configurations. The DVI input allows multiple chassis to be cascaded for higher performance or additional AA samples.

I do get the feeling that it will be exepsnive, but it would be an awesome card.

The only problem i forsee is it could end up like the Wicked 3d Dual Voodoo3 3000's. They made demos of it, but never brought it to market.

No, the Dual Voodoo3's were to be made by somehow tieing 2 voodoo3's together from existing technology. Alienware bought the rights to use it specifily in their systems. They could play quake3 at 1600x1200 at like 50fps (that was a big deal back in the day.

And the technolgoy by Wicked3d claimed they could do that to ANY video card, includeing Nvidia's.... but they of coursed needed PCI cards.....

Just think if wicked 3d could apply that to new videa cards when they swtich to PCIX :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

I like how they rate their ATI card...

the 9500 card has "Freakin' ass kickin' performance"
while the 9100 just has "ass kickin' performance"

If they offer 9700 or 9800 hundred will those have "breaking my foot off in your ass kickin performance"?

Hehe, my friend bought a Amplafier that said "INCREDIBLY INSANE WATTAGE" and they refused to quote exactly how many watts it was.

Later we found out it was 70w......................... for the price he paied for it he could of bough t a 300w....

The moral of this story is, Dont buy a SoundStream Lil'Wonder.
