I get a log in box when trying to get those. Anyone else getting that?

Edit: Nevermind, I just kept trying it and eventually it worked.

Looks like they fixed the problem I was having when not scaling the picture. With previous 9x.xx drivers, I'd get a thin vertical line running down the left edge of the picture. Happy to say, that appears to be fixed.

will this work now with java2 runtime component? no more black screen of death while exiting games?

Are you using the latest version? J2SE(TM) Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 9? I haven't noticed the issue personally, but I haven't really used any Java apps since I stopped using Azureus, so that's probably why.

Edit: I noticed these drivers still have the OC bug, which reads my mem clocks wrong.

Also, they're still missing a couple of SLI profiles for newer games from EA (TW2007, NFS:Carbon, etc).

Edit2 : They do have profiles for FIFA and Madden 07 though, which might be of interest to someone.

is fifa 2007 profile still the same like fifa 2006? like it was in 96.89?

can you post the nvapps.xml? i would like to look thru it

I don't think the "OC bug" is actually a bug. Its only a different way to measure clock speeds, and in one way of looking at it, its accurate. Since the 8800 cards will be clock locked, I think all nVidia drivers will no longer allow overclocking with coolbits. Just a guess, but we will see.

Some pretty ****ty stuff in the open issues of this driver..

one reads something like this..

if u overclock and use the restore default value..it doesn't always restore it accurately....wtf mate O.o?

Bug or not, it's still displayed incorrectly (which constitutes a bug IMO). It reads my memory speed as 2200Mhz, which is impossible clock speeds for this memory.

Some SLI values of other profiles have changed as well, but since I don't know which ones are correct, I only posted the missing profiles.

I wonder why they they took those out? Maybe they didn't help or caused corruption?

rewt
11-02-06, 11:09 AM
It is likely that it is just an inconsistency between driver versions and/or development teams. If SLI is this hard to manage at nvidia's end, it just makes it that much worse for us end users.

Yet another reason why my next setup will probably not utilize SLI (unless I get a spectacular deal like I did with these 6600GTs).

So let me see if I understand this: You can't Overclock using coolbits with this driver? Im using a single 7900GTO if it matters.

i don't have all those games, but scarface profile was working fine for me.

Strange, I can't get to the 'read me' on NV's site. I'd love to see what's reported in it..maybe it's not uploaded yet.

EDIT: nm, ftp to the rescue.

Edit2 : They do have profiles for FIFA and Madden 07 though, which might be of interest to someone.

Those were in 96.89, It's NBA Live and Tiger Woods i'm more interested in.
