how old is olddest gamer you know?

i have LAN parties at my home every weekend and we often hear,from non-gamers,that some of us are too old to play games......which is really dumb,cause i gonna spend my pension on new games one day.
all the guys that come are between 19 and 28,since i am the olddest there,u prolly guessed that i am 28;)

so i am thought that short interview around here might help me shut few mouths next time i hear......"i can't believe you spend so much time playing games,you are too old to do it" stuff.

I know of a guy in his 40s that plays shooters, but for MMORPGs , I know alot of people over 35 that play those games, and many others. There are just as much a gamer as I am.

Age doesn't mean squat....

I keep cracking up when people are surprised that I game like I do at 36, and even more amused when they find out I'm good. That ain't a brag as I'm not pretending I'm the best, but I've been gaming for 28 years now and I really don't entirely suck! ;)

It's funny the first time you get into a deathmatch with someone who's giggling at the idea of "Uncle John trying Billy's computer game", the look on their faces as you easily clean up the place with 'em is priceless. :D (Hey, these are casual gamers at best I'm talking about...that's why I feel safe in saying it ain't a brag. ;) )

Ive seen cutomers in the shop that must be in thier late 50s early 60s upgrading thier pcs with GF4s and the likes, as they mostly play Flight sims and stuff, and like em to look nice and run smooth ;)

I know plenty of guys 25-30 who play everything from FPS to flight sims, RTS, console games, etc. My father, 43 yo likes to play tekken tag once in a while. Asherons Call has a large community of gamers 30+ and I beleieve the olderst known AC player was 65 or so.

I've been on b.net sometimes and run into the surprised person who finds out I'm 30. They seem to have this mind set that only kiddies play games. I do wonder what they think the rest of us do for our amusement, pay bills or something? Paying bills is something one has to do, it isn't something one likes doing. No offence if there are any beurocrats reading this, but pushing paper isn't my idea of fun...

This guy I know gets a lot of burned games and always bring them down for me and a friend of mine to pick through. He is at least 50. Hell I don't care if you 99 playing pc games. More power too ya!
