I would just like to proclaim my intent to be in love with the Nintendo Wii. I cant wait to buy it, i havent bought a console since my original NES (which i still proudly play) and i cant wait for the Wii to be sitting in my living room.

Long Live the Wii!

I actually decided to hold off a little while on my Wii purchase and buy more games and accesories for my PS3...

The Wii will be the first console in a long while that I don't intend on buying on launch day.

Does the Wii have a harddrive?

If not where will the emulated games they are selling be stored?

they will be stored on the flash memory in the system. nes games are like 2 KB's. they are tiny. so, there will be plenty of room.

i love you Wii

lol. The Wii doesn't support HD resolutions let alone a hard drive.

not to shoot the messenger, but i hate when people say that.

i dont care about how pretty games look, as long as they are fun. 360, and im sure ps3, will look great, but the gameplay will be crap as it has been.

so, i luv ya gamerguy, but i dont even have an HD TV, so i dont care

I prefer the total package actually. Gameplay is just as important as the visual and aural aspects as well as the storyline.

BTW, I would not be interested in gaming at all if the gameplay provided by the past PlayStation and Xbox platforms "was crap".

i relent. you have a point. and i can understand your point of view. however, in my little bubble, i would trade visuals in for better and more entertaining gameplay anyday:)

Yes but the games on the Wii don't seem entertaining to me at all in my own little bubble. I prefer games like Resistance: Fall of Man and Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots in comparison to Zelda: Twilight Princess and Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz.

In other words, I prefer games with a more dark and gritty (more realistic) look and feel to them.

I'm glad I'm student at DigiPen, all I have to do is walk over Nintendo store at Nintendo of America and get Wii weeks early. :)

Why does that matter? I look at the Wii as a budget gaming system. The Game Cube was great fun for my son and I and the Wii will be the same. So I am going to get it but not to get the top of the line console system but to have a good entertainment system my son and I can hang out an play with. Sure it isn't the badest beast on the block but it will fill its purpose just fine.

I don't play games to play casually or solely to play with a younger relative.

Will do. :) But going to Nintendo store isn't that simple. You have to find a staff to escort you (you can't go there alone since it's inside Nintendo of America building and isn't open for public but for nintendo/digipen staffs/students). Starting today they started to sell Wii (it has to be 2 weeks before release). They did that with DS.

Zelda is about as hardcore as it gets. Maybe the PS3 or XBOX360 fits your needs as a gamer better, but the Wii certainly has a place.

Please show me where I said the Wii has no place.

How much flash memory is in the system and is it upgradeable?

I have friends that have grandiose plans of having massive LEGAL downloaded collections of games on the Wii and somehow I don't think that's going to happen.

I thought it used SD cards for memory? or do they use the SD cards for something else?

If thats the case ill just go pick up a 2gb SD card for like $30 and that should hold all that stuff no problem.

But I too want a Wii, first console ill have wanted/own since PS1

Please show me where I said that you said the Wii has no place (how's that for confusing).

I wasn't trying to say you're completely wrong by quoting you, I was merely saying I have a slightly different perspective.

Only the first generation will... then they will take a step back in time like they did with component cables for the Gamecube.

BURN!
