I saw some DDR Ram for Samsung for $71. I heard that some ram can be better quality than others. Is ram from Samsung pretty good quality? (its 512 of pc3200 ram)

what is a burn-in test?
I think Samsung got a good name with pc2100 and pc2400? I think it might be ok, dont expect anything like overclocking alot and might not be able to use tight timings. If your just after some cheap ram to run at 166fsb, then it should be fine IMO.
I've had good experiences with their PC2100 & PC2700 256mb modules... No crashes or instability...
:)
..can't say the same for elixir... poopy!!!

It maxed out the performance limit for the memmory and gives an indication of how well it works and how long it will last. If the memmory fries then you have a POS. If you need a more detailed example, ask any of the mods, or just post.

I've run both pc2100 and pc2700 Samsung overclocked for months on end with no trouble. Almost all the ram I've had has been samsung and I've had nothing to complain about.

The Samsung 2100 and 2700 RAM rocks. (I own 2 overclocked sticks of 2700 myself). I hear the 3200 isn't so great.

I've got 6 sticks total of PC2100 from Samsung in 128MB and 256MB variaties, and they all rock. Had them a long time and have never had a problem.
I even have 2 sticks of PC1066 from Samsung before they stopped making it. Same deal, no probs.

If you must know, I had two sticks of 3500 and one will not boot alone and the other is stable for 45 seconds, after which it hard locks. $300 gone just like that. I have had three sticks fry in my whole life, two of which are samsung.:(

Don't some companies actually just rebadge samsung RAM and sell it under a different name?

I don't like samsung memory, but if I HAD to use it I guess I would. I highly recommend WINBOND memory, it is faster than samsung, better quality, and is supposed to cost less. Right now tho it is more expensive since memory took a dump. But yeah, Winbond is the best ;)

Alot of companies do just that. I'm currently using 2 265MB sticks of Apacer. One stick uses genuine Samsung modules while the other uses Infineon. :D :)

Although I'm using OCZ ram currently(see sig) every stick of Samsung ram I've owned has perf flawlessly, even while o'ced. I sold a couple sticks of PC2700 to someone here a few months back and haven't heard any probs.
