Anyone know offhand if any driver set other than 93.71 has a profile for NWN2? I installed said drivers, but frankly, they suck on my machine. Performance is down in all games, and they just don't feel smooth at all. For god's sake, I was down to single figure frame rates in the supression room in BWL the other day, something that has never happened with any other driver set. Since I play WoW all the time unless I'm playing NWN2, this is no good. Anyone got any ideas?

you can take the nvapps.xml, install what ever driver you want and overwrite the file.

u can use nhancer and just add a profile and enter the hex value..but not sure if thats the best way to do as the driver it self my have..improvements in the game...but..the best improvement to this game is turn shadows off :/

gonna need to get a 8800GTX and SLI on the swamp lvl of NWN2..i think thats the most intensive map there is in the game..so far atleast.

Water/Trees..lots of it..

Shadows/Water reflection off gives about 50 fps boost -.-..otherwise its in the low 20-30..which is rather unplayable

Same here, they are excellent all round on my machine. I'm going back to them now and do the nvapps.xml thing you suggested.

Yep, same problems... the 8800GTX and NWN2 doesn't make a big difference. It's better than my x1900xtx but it still doesn't take the performance close to where it needs to be.

If you are using an Athlon 3700+ then you are probably CPU limited

I do hope you actually read more of it up. People with Core2Duo systems are hardly getting improvements..and in same areas are still looking at the same thing..i saw someone post like 2fps boost from a 7900gt to a 8800GTX in the same spot.

Bad game engine.:thumbdwn:

i agree, this problem is game engine oriented not gpu. a 7950x2 should run this game no prob at highest settings.
hopefully it is a fixable prob & will be fixed sooner than later. but given that atari is involved i would not hold my breath.

Guys, I picked up this game and at first it ran like molasses. I played around with the settings and it was just too slow even with the 8800GTX. Then, I noticed a file in the game directory called "nwn2main_amdxp.exe" Curiously I ran it and the game started. Now I'm getting frame rates as good as Oblivion with the 8800GTX. Anyone else try that executable file yet? If not, run that one and see if your frame rates go up like mine did. It's completely smooth and playable now.
