What is Gears of War? I mean Gears of War brings nothing in terms of innovation to the shooter... Like, zero. Only two very brave UK-based journalists said, 'You know what, Gears of War is a great game but it's like what Quake was a few years ago.'

lol!
EA is smoking pot :p
EA saying another companies games are not innovative its just laughable oh the irony :D

Tascan admits that he hasn't actually played Gears yet—and neither have I—but is in essence calling out the industry for being putting graphics before gameplay. I can get behind that, Alain, but you really ought to focus on your own game a bit more.

Way to go EA.

I'm sure Superman will be amazing! (read: will be terrible)

Come on... EA is the most innovative of all companies... who innovated charging for tutorial videos on XBLM? For unlockables?

EA innovates EVERYTHING EVER!

If GOW was an EA game I'd be playing the rehash version, 'Gears of War 2031" with my grandkids in 2030.

Wow, I knew EA was worthless, but they've sunk to new lows trash talking other developers. I mean seriously, you don't see that from any other company.

Yeah now if we had to buy the chainsaw gun for 2000 points, that would have made it more innovative.

EA is just green with envy! Epic knocked the ball out of the park with GoW while EA struggles to put out some rehashed garbage. How is it possible that NFS:Carbon is worst then Most Wanted? The only game that is coming down the pipe by EA that might have some kind of originality is Army of Two which seems to be a GoW clone. Go figure!

funny that they say that since they produce the most generic games out of any companies each year.

EA is just pissed off due to the fact that GoW set a new standard for video games in terms of polish and completeness. GoW is one of the most well thought out and polished games I have ever played. It may not be innovative, but it runs smooth as silk and is fun as hell (SP and MP) - what was BF2s SP? Playing bots offline, haha. Hey everyone watch out for NFS:Nitrogen and Madden 2007:the 2nd half of the season due out in spring 2007, each coming with a $60 price tag. Anyways, EA now realizes that they can't release the same bug-infested laggy crap every 6 months and then charge you for stuff that should have been in the game in the first place. It all boils down to their wallets taking a blow, and they are pissed.

They actually made good FIFA soccer games in 2003 and 2004 and then BROKE them chasing "new features"... they've rebuilt from the ground up on stuff that wasn't bad. They innovate where they don't NEED to, and buy everyone elses innovations then throw out sequels every year.

Maybe he was thinking about Quake Wars?
