You do not need two IP addresses, you can use a NAT. You shouldn't have the modem connected over USB to your machine if you can avoid it. Does it not have an ethernet port?

Consider using a SOHO router instead of Win32 software solutions as they are more robust and provide an additional layer of security.

well, our computers are connected via the ethernet cable. we can share files, the modem is running on the usb from the main computer.

i cant buy a router it is 21:30:(

is there a simple program that can show our 2 comps as 1 ip? a proxy or something? but for someone who has had no sleep and cant sort it out

ive tried various ones, and the help files dont describe my problem, which must be very very simple to fix :o

please explain in nooby laymens terms please :o
